Jody Taylor
Jody Taylor was introduced to quilting in 2005 and jumped right into local guild activities as the program coordinator of the Almonte Quilter's Guild, where she lived at the time. This experience combined with her skills as an event planner led Jody to produce The Art Quilter Lecture and Workshop Series, which ran for a period of two years. This series consisted of hosting ongoing workshops with internationally renowned/authored quilt and fibre artists such as Ellen Anne Eddy and Vikki Pignatelli, to name a few, as well as a few of the traditionalists, namely Kaye Wood and Marti Michell. What a leg up on learning this experience provided a newbie quilter!
In 2006, shortly after moving back to Ottawa, Jody purchased a Statler Stitcher computerized longarm quilting machine. While Jody continued to operate her event management business, Bravo Show Management, she 'played' with her Statler for a few years before officially launching into her quilting business. In the fall of 2009, Jody joined The Running Stitch team and became the store's resident quilter in July 2010. Jody can either be found quilting in the studio space at the back of the store, happily helping customers on the floor, or just fondling fabric.
Jody is happily married with 2 children and always looks forward to the challenges that lie ahead.
