Beth Cameron
Beth lives in Manotick where she has lived almost all her life. She has been an avid sewer since her teens and has a Certificate in Visual Arts from Algonquin College. She loves combining her artistic ability with her sewing expertise and has managed to combine the two with fibre arts. She works full time at Algonquin College and works at the Running Stitch on the occasional Saturday. She calls her job here her non-profit job! You can probably figure out why.
Beth has won several awards for her quilts and has exhibited internationally, including being juried into the International Show in Houston in 2001. Beth served a term on the Board of Directors for the Canadian Quilters Association where she met lots of great quilters from across Canada. She now writes a regular column for the Canadian Quilter newsletter magazine.
At Quilter’s Newsletter request, one of Beth’s quilts was recently featured in their 40th Anniversary Edition (Aug/Sept 2009).
